Dedicated to igniting our visitors’ curiosity about the people, places, and engineering marvels behind the railways, we put our passion for amazing stories into everything we do.
We are looking for volunteers to drive and guard our 7 1/4 inch gauge Miniature Railway and help ensure our visitors have a fantastic experience. We are particularly looking for volunteers to help at weekends but all availability will be considered.
About the Role
This role offers a great opportunity to make a difference to our visitors. You will work as part of a team to prepare our diesel locomotives, welcome and engage visitors, check tickets, and drive and guard the locomotive in a safe manner. Our Miniature Railway is operated by volunteers in collaboration with our staff team.
About You
You will definitely enjoy working as part of a team, have great communication skills and a positive approach to customer care. Prior experience of driving locomotives (of any size) is not essential; full training will be provided.
