To achieve this, we take an interest in our museum partners and their activities, help them to make the best use of our Group’s financial resources and encourage them to be self-reliant in their engagement with our finance systems and processes.
About the role
You will lead financial activity across your dedicated departments, group wide. Liaising with stakeholders from Curatorial, Learning, Digital and Communications teams, your focus will be to support the management of budgets and to meet objectives efficiently and effectively.
You will also provide colleagues with advice, forecasting and insight as they realise future activities and assist them to make convincing cases for investment. This will involve working with both internal and external funders. Along with this, for a small portion you will be assisting with similar finance tasks from across the group’s other museums and functions.This position offers the flexibility to work in a hybrid way, however given the placement of your key stakeholders, you will still be required to be visit the York site on a regular weekly basis.

About you
Joining us, you will hold relevant accounting qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) that allows you to understand, sense check and challenge financial information when reported. You have the ability to analyse data and present it to colleagues in a simple and appropriate way, as well as the ability to assess business performance critically and commercially.
You will have excellent communication skills and ability to connect with others, to provide financial advice and input with a range of different stakeholders. You will have a true partnering approach, whilst also planning in detail significant pieces of work and to deliver to your plans, setting clear expectations for yourself and others.
