To support this work, we are now recruiting a Senior Press Officer as part of the Communications team at the National Science and Media Museum (NSMM) in Bradford. In this role, you will support the delivery of our objectives – to increase footfall, engagement, and revenue generation by effectively promoting the Museum’s programme of new permanent galleries, temporary exhibitions, and events.
As Senior Press Officer, you will harness media relationships and assist in the management of the Museum’s digital channels to tell compelling and authentic stories about NSMM and its collections, exhibitions, events, and festivals. The role will also have a key responsibility in helping to co-ordinate internal communications for the Museum, including assisting the production of the Museum’s regular colleague newsletters and updating the colleague intranet pages.
Joining us, you will hold experience of working within a relevant PR, press office, communications or journalistic role. You will have a good grounding in all aspects of external and internal communications, with demonstrable experience of working on creative, integrated communications campaigns, for exhibitions, events or commercial activities. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, partners and media to achieve significant results through PR activity. You will be able to organise and prioritise a busy workload, being able to balance multiple project streams at any one time.
