Are you passionate about improving access to a world-renowned museum collection? Are you interested in data and systems?
About us
The Science Museum is undertaking a major programme to transform access to its collections. Through relocating around 320,000 objects from Blythe House in West London to a newly built facility at Wroughton in Wiltshire (the National Collections Centre), and improving access to the collection physically, remotely and digitally, this programme will ensure that we continue to inspire futures for generations to come. We’re sharing more stories from our collections than ever before through online stories, blogs, social media and a major participatory art commission.
About the role
The Collections Information Project Manager is a key player in this programme and its legacy: driving forward research into the collections, enhanced cataloguing and digital access. Collections Information is the basis on which our wider engagement activities derive. You will work across museum teams, and liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders to bring together new ways of working and develop improved levels of engagement with the collection.
This role is fixed-term for 12 months, and can be based at the Science Museum in London or the National Collections Centre in Wroughton.
