The Cultural and Commercial Partnerships team is critical in realising this aim as part of the Group’s commercial Enterprise department. We raise SMGs profile nationally and internationally, commercially leveraging our brand, content, and skills and create new partnerships worldwide.
Our picture library hosts wholly owned collections from 5 National Museums, and third-party collections including Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. We licence images, ranging from some of the oldest photography in the world – and also licence footage, including the first ever colour film, and artworks, such as the Railway Posters from the 20th Century.
As guardians of the brand, the licensing team produce book publications, authorise the use of branding on products and issue image licenses. Through its activity, licensing reaches a wide international audience whilst inspiring futures.
About the roleWe are looking for a Media Licensing Executive to join us on a contract until April 2023, to build and maintain relationships with key licensing clients. Focusing on sales and business development, you will proactively approach and engage with clients, handle contract negotiations, follow up on expired licences and be involved in various marketing activities. You will also collaborate with a range of colleagues across the organisation and with external contacts, on a variety of projects in order to facilitate project delivery.
This role will offer hybrid working, with a base of one of the following Science Museum Group sites, depending on your preference – London, Bradford, York or Manchester. However, please note that you will be required to visit London where the team is based.
About youJoining us, you will be a good communicator with great interpersonal skills, using your autonomy and organisation skills to manage your workload across the subgroups within the team.Whether you have built your experience in brand, agency, TV, publishing, film, or other attractions – we are keen to hear from you. What will be key is a good understanding and background of media (image, footage, and sound) licensing, photography, intellectual property, client relationship management and business development.
You possess the confidence to develop new business and have a good visual eye to help you sell assets.
