The Science and Innovation Park (S+IP) is the home of the Science Museum Group’s National Collections Centre, where over 400,000 objects from our collection are researched, accessed, and cared for. Alongside providing storage and collections management for the Group, the site generates a substantial income for SMG through lettings, events, research and development activity and through renewable energy generation.
The site is changing, our new collections facility paves the way for several large-scale commercial projects including film studios, storage buildings and renewable energy generation. Alongside these major developments, there is growing interest in using the site for EV and Autonomous vehicle development, low carbon technology research and other mission-aligned commercial activities. About the role
As Site Assistant, you will support the coordination of various operational projects, commercial activities and the programme of development for the site.
This is great opportunity if you are keen to develop upon your skills in administration and customer service - and possibly a career in Events.
Assisting the Operations and Commercial Development Team, you will help plan and set up a range of operational initiatives onsite, both for staff, internal and external clients. You will work across our departments making sure site visits and meetings are well planned and effective. You will also find yourself providing a range of admin duties, as well as monitoring office supplies, collection and assigning post, and completing relevant checks ahead of events.
As you will be providing support for events and general activity across the site, there will be a physical element to this position when moving, lifting and offloading various small items. These items may include barriers, traffic cones, boxes etc – This is an element of the role that the successful candidate must be comfortable and capable of doing.Given the size of the S+IP, you must possess a driver’s licence to be able to move around your work site.About youWhether you have developed your administration, customer service or organisation skills by supporting a busy team, or office - we look forward to hearing from you.
