Are you a creative leader with experience of developing and delivering engaging public programming?
The Science Museum Group is here to inspire futures. Our story in County Durham begins in the 1820s in Shildon, the world's first railway town. Later becoming the largest wagon works in Europe, this site is now home to one of the Group's most historically significant
museums, Locomotion.
To champion our ambitious plans, we are looking for a dynamic individual to join us as Head of Locomotion, based in Shildon, on a permanent basis.
In this role, you will drive work to develop and communicate plans for the buildings, collections and exhibitions at Locomotion. You will also lead a small operational team on site and work as part of National Railway Museum's senior management team, collaborating across the Group to create new interpretation, programmes, partnerships and ideas for the mus
eu
m.
Joining us, you will have the passion and appetite to accelerate Locomotion's plans and vision. Bringing expert skills from working on capital redevelopment projects and public programming, you will have the tenacity to forge lasting relationships whilst being an inspiring leader, supporting and developing the team in Shildon.
You will be offered excellent benefits, including 27 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, a contributory company pension scheme, BUPA medical and dental care, an annual season ticket loan and numerous staff discounts whilst developing your career in a world class museum group.
