Are you passionate about communicating the history of science to a wide audience?
Across Science Museum Group, our expert curatorial team specialises in engaging our diverse audiences with the science that has shaped the modern world through managing, developing, researching, interpreting and presenting unique collections of scientific, technological and cultural significance.
To help us to continue this work, we are looking for an Associate Curator to join us at the Science Museum in London on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. Working within a dynamic curatorial team, this is a key role to support the research and development of content for the Science Museum’s temporary exhibitions, revealing inspiring stories from the history of science through the ages. This role supports all aspects of content production, including research, documentation of objects, and developing relationships with a wide range of external partners to support research and help build the profile of the Museum. You will also work closely with our collections, exhibitions and interpretation colleagues to ensure our exhibitions tell stories that are engaging, relevant and compelling.
Joining us, you will have an interest in the history of science and a desire to communicate your knowledge and share collections with audiences through world-class exhibitions. You’ll have experience of working with museum objects and international loans, as well as an understanding of best practice in museum collections and research. As a strong communicator, you’ll be able to connect and communicate complex ideas and issues around the history of science with non-specialist audiences.
You will be offered excellent benefits, including 25 days annual leave in addition to bank holidays, a contributory pension scheme, BUPA medical and dental care, an annual season ticket loan and numerous staff discounts whilst developing your career in a world class museum group.
