In this part-time role, you will play a critical role in the collection management of the library and archive collections at our National Collections Centre, and the delivery of the public services. You will be answering collections-based enquiries and retrieving items requested for research use, ensuring that risks are minimised and that customer services standards are maintained. Once trained, you will carry out basic cataloguing of archive material and improve existing catalogue records. You will also scan archival material requested by readers or for digitisation, create metadata for images and publish selected images to the Museum's Collections Online web resource.
You will have excellent written English and attention to detail, as well as a systematic approach to your work and the ability to collaborate well with the team. You will also have experience, paid or voluntary, of working with an archive, library or museum.
