Registration Manager
Job description
Do you have extensive experience in collections registration in a major museum or comparable organisation? Would you like to lead the Registration Team in a national role covering some of the world's most famous museums? With the opportunity to be based in London, Manchester, Bradford or York, this is a unique opportunity to play a key role across all aspects
of our registration function.
The Science Museum Group includes the Science Museum in London, Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester, National Science & Media Museum in Bradford and National Railway Museum in York. We are world-renowned for our historic collections, unique galleries and inspirational exhibitions. With an ambitious and high-profile programme of acquisitions and loans ranging from Tim Peake's Soyuz capsule to the Flying Scotsman locomotive, we are offering a highly varied, complex and dynamic opportunity to lead our national and international collections registration activity.
You will be managing three Registrars responsible for a further team of at least four Assistant Registrars, ensuring an excellent standard of communication and customer services is delivered consistently across all our sites. With direct reports based in London and Bradford, you will travel regularly to meet with colleagues and stakeholders across our museums.
You will be responsible for both the budget for the Registration team, and managing income from borrowing organisations. Building upon a culture of integrated teamwork, you will drive continuous improvement in processes and activities across all our sites. You will ensure that we are accountable for acquisitions, loans and disposals being carried out legally and ethically.
We provide excellent benefits, including a contributory pension scheme, BUPA medical and dental care, an annual season ticket loan and numerous staff discounts, alongside the opportunity to develop your career in a world-class museum group.
Interviews will take place in London on 21st July.
